February 25 2016, 07:24am

Sometimes when you try to play back DVD ISO image files on Mac computer with the default DVD Player, you might come across playback issue, especially when the ISO image files are region coded. Some other people might even meet the problem that the DVD player crashes when they play DVD ISO on Mac:

“On previous versions of Mac OS X I could mount a DVD image ISO by double clicking it then play it in DVD Player. In El Capitan when I try to do this it prompts me to set the DVD region for the "drive" (mounted image) and fails to play. If I try to get the disc info DVD Player crashes. Is this a known problem or is there a work around?”

So how to free play DVD ISO on Mac OS X?

Method 1 1: How to open an ISO file on Mac?

For Mac users, it is easy to mount an ISO file on Mac simply by double-clicking the ISO image file, and it will go through the auto-mounter app within OS X putting it on your desktop.

If this doesn’t work, you could make use of Mac computer’s built-in Disk Utility and a more advanced option of using the command line. The Disk Utility is located in the /Applications/Utilities/ directory. After you have launched Disk Utility, navigate from the Disk Utility menu down to "Open Image File" and select your ISO file. The ISO should now appear mounted on the Mac OS desktop. This works for other disk image files too (dmg, img, etc).

If you want to play an ISO file on Mac, you can ask help for a 3rd-party ISO player. Free ISO Player software is such a software that can allow people to open, extract and play the ISO content in the files. Apart from this, users can even burn the ISO files and convert them to CDs and DVDs. Therefore, it can be termed as a comprehensive tool that is quite handy.

Samsung Kies: Use Samsung Kies to Sync media to Galaxy Tab on Mac?

February 22 2016, 06:41am

Samsung Kies is a free computer application that makes moving media (music, videos, tv shows or even hd contacts) to Galaxy Tab much easier than manual file transfers. Syncing can be done across Wi-Fi or USB.

Kies supported devices: Galaxy Tab 10.1/8.9/7.0, Galaxy Note 10.1(2014), Galaxy Note, Galaxy S3/S4/S5, etc

Despite its stupid name, Kies is Samsung’s desktop utility for getting various types of media – games, music, videos, podcasts etc – onto your Galaxy device (smartphone or tablet) from your computer. In technical talk, it’s multimedia management software providing easy data backup and convenient purchase features so equivalent to Apple’s iTunes for iPhone and Sony’s Media Manager for PSP. Kies now is available for both PC and Mac. The below guide is for Mac users to sync Music, Videos and Photos to Samsung Galaxy Tab. By the way, the latest version of Kies for Mac works with OS X Mountain Lion/ OS X 10.8.Free Download Samsung Kies 2.0 for Mac

Note: For Galaxy Tab file transfer from PC, check out a totorial here – How to connect and transfer media from PC to Galaxy Tab with Samsung KiesHow to Sync Media(videos, music and pictures) from Mac to Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and more Galaxy devices using Kies

1. Connect Samsung Galaxy Tablet with your Mac/iMac/MacBook/Mac BookPro.

2. Install and Run Samsung Kies. The main interface shows you basic information about the tablet.

3. Click “Sync” tab.

4. Movie your mouse down to Multimedia area. Here you can see “Sync music”, “Sync photos”, “Sync videos” and “Sync podcasts”.

5. To sync music to Samsung Galaxy Tab, check “Sync music” box. Then you can sync selected music, playlist or all music in library.

6. In order to sync a local video or song to Samsung Galaxy Tab, you need to add the song/video to Kies library. To do this, you can switch to “Video” tab from the left column, and press “Add music”/ “Add video” and browse to the source file.

Tips and Tricks

1. Movies and TV shows downloaded from iTunes store can not be played on Galaxy Tab, because they are copy-protected contents and are compatible with iOS devices and authorized computers only. Galaxy Tab will not play iTunes .m4v videos unless they are hacked. See:

2. There are videos that can’t be added to Kies because they are not supported by Galaxy Tab 3, Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, Galaxy S5/S4/S3 etc. In that way you can use Pavtube Galaxy Video Converter forMac (Windows), which converts MXF, MKV, TS, TOD, MOD, FLV, F4V, AVI, QuickTime MOV, VOB, MP4, MPG, MPEG, ASF, MVI, VP6, EVO, VRO, DV, MP3, AC3, MKA, WMA, WAV, M4A, OGG, APE and more as well as Blu-ray, DVD to Galaxy Tab/Galaxy Note/Galaxy S playable format while downsizing files to meet your need. Kies can also convert videos to fit for your Samsung Galaxy device, but in some cases depending on input size, it creates a file larger than 4gig which will not copy onto your Tab.

Play HD 1080p MKV, WMV videos on Infinity TF700 with video and audio synchronization

February 17 2016, 06:37am

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 trades a 1280 x 800 pixel count for 1920 x 1200 resolution. Yes, it’s crisp, even if it is not quite as stunning as the 2048 x 1536 Retina display. This resolution is enough to play 1080p HD movies on Infinity TF700.

“How to watch MKV or WMV videos on Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700?” has become a trend. Many ASUS fans are discussing Infinity TF700 video playback problem.

For example:

Q1: Playing .MKV files on your Infinity

Hi all,

I have a bunch of MKV files and had the hardest time finding an app that would play them correctly on my new Infinity. A lot of the media players would play the video but there was no audio.

Which is the best video player for Infinity TF700 and that plays them all flawlessly?

I’m sure a lot of people want to play some HD movies on their new 1080p tablet, any suggestions?

Q2: How to transfer movies from PC to infinity tf700?

Hi, how do I transfer movies from my PC to my tablet? I was able to click and drag 1 wmv movie file to the tablet but the rest of the wmv movies have no picture only sound. Any input will be greatlt appreciated. Thank you.

Q3: How to play MKV video on my new Infinity?

Frustratingly, I got a bunch of MKV files and had the hardest time finding an app that would play them correctly on my new Infinity. A lot of the media players would play the video but there was no audio, or crashed when using fast forward. In order to have smooth playback on Asus TF700, I tried some methods.

Q4: Copy WMV movie to Infinity TF700 no picture only sound?

Hi, I just transferred 2 wmv movie files from my pc to the Infinity TF700 and the other one worked perfectly but the other one has no picture….only sound. Pls help. Thanks.

When i visit some Transformer Pad Infinity forums, i find many people have issues when playing some video files on their Infinity TF700. Many people will think of selecting a suitable video player for Infinity TF700, but, as you see, media player isn’t the best solution to solve this problem. Any player is just more powerful than Infinity built-in player, but it still has video & audio limitation.

According to my own experience, every device have its own favourite format. For example, most android devices prefer h.264 mp4. Asus Transformer Pad Infiniy is also one of them. For this reason, you need to convert videos (include MKV, AVI, WMV, VOB, Tivo, TV shows, AVCHD, MTS, FLV, F4V, etc.) to Infinity TF700 friendly video format and change the video size to 1080p. Infinity TF700 Video Converter can help youconvert 1080p MKV/WMV to Infinity TF700 MP4 for watching on Windows 8.1.

Step 1. Free download, install and launch Video Converter for Infinity TF700. Afterwards, directly drag and drop MKV files to the program. Or you can tap the “Add” button to import files. Batch conversion is available, so you can add several files at one time.

Step 2. Import the MKV or WMV videos you want to convert, and then choose the best video output format for Asus Infinity TF700.

Click “Format” column and choose “Android > Asus Transformer Pad Infinity 700 Full HD Video (*.mp4)” as the best video format for Infinity 700.

Step 3. After choosing the format, you can click settings button to see detail information of the format, and you can change the profile parameters. In video column, you can set codec, size, bitrate, frame rate, etc.

Step 4. Edit function is very useful in the software. You can use Trim, Crop, Watermark, Split3D Effect and Audio Replace feature to edit the videos by click “Edit” icon.

Step 5. Click the “Convert” button; it will transcode HD Videos(include MKV, WMV) to Infinity TF700 compatible MP4 video format at once. You can find the process in the “Conversion” interface.

This program runs smoothly with video and audio synchronization perfectly guaranteed. Now, you can easily transfer the play TOD/MOD/MOV/MTS/FLV/MKV/AVI/WMV/F4V/Tivo/VOB videos to your Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 and watch them wherever you go.

Tip: If you are mac users and want to play 1080p HD Videos on Transformer Pad Infinity TF700, try Mac Infinity TF700 1080p Converter

Hope the tutorial can help you.

First, you need know Samsung Galaxy S III supported file types:

Video formats: MPEG4, H.263, H.264, DivX, XviD, AVI, WMV, 3GP, Flash Video
Audio formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, FLAC, WMA, WAV, AMR, OGG, MIDI

If you want to play MPEG-2, TS, MKV, MOV, TOD, M2TS, MTS, MOD, VOB, TiVo, iTunes M4V or TV shows, Digital Copy, Amazon Videos, Blu-ray/DVD movies, etc., you may have already found that’s not easy for you, but it’s not a big thing, the following converter tools will help you:

Important! Almost every Android device has this 4GB limitation, in other word, you cann’t successfully move your movies or videos to Android tablets/phones for sure. For eBooks of course that’s no problem. But for multimedia it’s a huge disadvantage to iPhone or iPad for example. 720p and 1080p movies today can be up to 10GB, and that’s definitely will not transfer to the MircroSd card.

Some may say, you can convert the card into some Linux format, Ext3 or something like that. But I find it extremely inefficient and even unprofessional, to claim those units being multimedia devices as well and not even being able to handle the easiest of tasks. None of these are ideal for use with flash cards anyway, ideally we would all be using some type of JFS with them. Some other guy find a solution by Zipping into portions below 4GB, copying to the card and then unzipping. Not really a solution, in my opinion – way to time-consuming.

Another way is to split the files into parts and have the software know to glue it back together again for you. This sounds more reasonable, when you convert multimedia files and lower resolution files still will look fine…
